Cune Press was founded in 1994 to publish thoughtful writing of public importance. Our name is derived from “cuneiform.” (In Latin cuni means “wedge.”) Cune Press is a project of the Salaam Cultural Museum, a 501 (c) (3) charitable non-profit in the state of Washington. SCM was founded by Rita Zawaideh, a human rights activist who, most recently, has provided services to Syrian and other refugees in Greece.
